This year, I wanted to incorporate more positive changes in my lifestyle. In order to hold myself accountable, and share this journey with others, I'm launching my monthly challenges for 2023. Each month will have a different challenge centered around meal planning, saving money, and decluttering!
January- Pantry, Freezer, and Fridge clean out! In this month we will create inventory of all the food items we have in our homes, and try to use up as much as possible in weekly meals. This will result in less food waste, and a smaller grocery budget for the month!
February- Plan a month of meals. In this month we will plan out the entire month's meals instead of week by week. This will take the mental load off weekly, but also allow us to plan meals that share ingredients throughout the month, helping the grocery budget.
March- Save every $1 bill. For this challenge, every $1 bill I come across when receiving change will go into my savings envelope!
April- Declutter month! This month I will declutter at least one item per day. You can choose to donate, or sell these items based on your needs and mental bandwidth!
May- No clutter month (no spend on physical items). This month we will do a no spend on items that create clutter. These are things like clothes, home decor, gadgets, and any physical item that isn't a necessity.
June- Save every $5 bill. Another savings challenge, with $5 bills this time!
July- Another freezer, fridge, and pantry clean out to weed out the food we've accumulated over the last few months.
August- Plan a months worth of meals again! Hopefully we can use what we learned the first time to plan even better this time.
September- No spend- fast food! This month we won't spend money on any type of fast food including coffees in the morning!!
October- Another declutter month to start getting your home ready for the holiday season! Declutter at least one item a day for the entire month.
November- No spend- delivery! This month we wont spend any money on delivery food. Ideally this means that you cook at home more, but if you must get takeout, you have to pick it up!
December- Another $5 bill save to get you through to the end of the year and meet your yearly savings goals!
